Calcutta…

After reading the Irresistible Revolution I have been searching both in my heart and all around me for my “Calcutta”. My place to be, my calling, my area of service. As a kid I was moved beyond words when I read George Muellers book, and since then I have known that I want to work with children, more specifically orphans. I thought strongly about spending some time in New York, finishing school, starting a career… But all that pales in comparison to my desire to help. To serve. To LOVE.

We are called to be Lovers. And that is what I feel I am called to do, children- more than anyone- need love. They need to know that someone cares about them, that God loves them even when it seems like no one else does!

My cousin, Lori Davidson is going to be on her way to adopt a beautiful boy, Apollo, from an orphanage in Ghana in Africa… Thinking and praying for her has really pressed upon my heart… I feel led to this, I feel not only a personal but spiritual connection to this orphanage and I am excited about looking into this further! Lori told me today that they have a serious needs for volunteers at the orphange and so along with some emails back and forth with the administrators there, and some solid prayers… I think this will be where I spend the next several months (or longer depending on God’s will) of my life!
